A demo-ecological analysis of the surnames

The surnames, as we know them, sink their roots in the Middle Age. Throughout the XVIII century they have been inflected according to the gender, or they have been substituted with new ones.

In our island the survey of the surnames has an important meaning because it is linked to our insularity which limits the transfer of things and people. This survey could give us the opportunity to explore the community and follow its evolution. The following document, which is the result of a research through the eighteenth-century registers, contributes to outline a past community, giving more details about its evolution all over the years.
